The Fostering partnership
Providing the best possible care
After working in a variety of local authority settings, Greg Purkis, Hazel Mackay and Kwesi Olatunji decided to get back in touch with the passion that first got them into social work and working with kids in need.
From TFP's first office in 2002 they set to work recruiting foster carers who shared their passion for making things better for vulnerable children and their families. “If we recruit first rate people, and if we look after them, train them well, support and supervise them well then we’ll have an excellent agency. If we then recruit first rate social work staff, qualified, experienced and passionate like us, surely we can improve outcomes for children in need.”
Your friendly local fostering agency
Building a grass roots agency from the ground up and learning as they went along, they provided services for children aged 0 to 18 years, some for a couple of days, some for months, some forever, becoming a busy lead provider especially to boroughs in South London, but also in the north west of England. The latest project in North Wales opened mid 2008 and is also set for big things. Along the way TFP were rated ‘good’ by OFSTED.
TFP is still owned and managed by its social worker founders and values its people and community roots immensely. It's a diverse, well run operation where carers have direct access to its owners and senior managers whose professional expertise and genuine knowledge allows them to quickly respond and make decisions.
